Why Do PDF Pages End Up Sideways?
Incorrectly oriented pages usually originate from one of two sources. The most common is scanning — if a physical document was placed in a scanner sideways or upside down, the resulting PDF page will be rotated. Multi-page scans are especially prone to this if pages were loaded in mixed orientations. The second source is imported content: a landscape-oriented spreadsheet or diagram inserted into a document that is otherwise portrait will appear sideways unless the page orientation was specifically set to match the content before the PDF was exported.
Rotating All Pages vs. Rotating Specific Pages
Sometimes an entire scanned document is rotated and all pages need the same correction — select "All Pages" and apply a single 90° or 180° rotation. More often, only isolated pages are wrong: a landscape table on page 3, a sideways scan on page 7. In this case, select only the specific pages that need adjustment and apply the rotation to them, leaving the rest of the document untouched. PdfDocShift lets you specify individual pages or page ranges before applying the rotation, so you don't need to export pages, rotate them separately, and re-merge.
Will Rotating a PDF Change File Size or Quality?
No. Page rotation is stored as a metadata instruction in the PDF — it tells PDF readers to display the page at a given angle without altering any of the underlying content, images, or text. The file size will be almost identical to the original (a few bytes of metadata difference at most), and quality is completely unaffected. Unlike compression or conversion operations, rotation is entirely lossless and reversible — rotating a page 90° clockwise and then 270° clockwise returns it to exactly its original state.

You can rotate all pages by 90° clockwise, 180° (upside down / flip), or 270° (90° counter-clockwise). Select the angle that fixes your document orientation.
The current version rotates all pages in the PDF by the selected angle. To rotate specific pages only, use Split PDF to extract those pages, rotate them, then merge back.
No. Rotating is a lossless operation — no content is altered or compressed. The PDF quality, text and images remain identical after rotation.
Scanners sometimes capture documents in landscape or upside-down orientation. Using Rotate PDF 90° or 270° will correct the orientation so the pages read naturally.
